The Tibetan Terrier is one of our most interesting breeds. They resemble a miniature sheep dog. The Tibetan Terrier is not really a terrier at all, but rather classified in the nonsporting group. The Tibetan was known as "The Holy Dog of Tibet" and are believed to have existed for over 2000 years. They are rare in the United States today. They are very independent , but yet have cat-like feet which they love to wrap as arms around you to give hugs. They are exceptionally attached to their owners and gentle with children. Tibetans are wary of strangers and will generally take six steps back when someone is met at the door rather than bounding towards them. They rarely bark. The parents can have pups of any color, so litters are always a surprise. Colors of the coats continue to change for several years. They stand 14 to 16 inches at the shoulder at the withers and weigh 18 to 31 pounds. This is a low-shedding dog as with a regular grooming/brushing routine any dead hair is simply brushed out. They have a life span of 14-16 years.

We own beautiful Tibetans coming from showring linage with reason to stand tall and proud. Our females stand smaller than our males, but all are favorable sized weighing only 20-25 pounds. We humor their personalities and strongly feel that this breed is one of a kind – very intelligent and always willing to learn. If you are looking for an “in-between” sized companion who can cuddle, one with intelligence, beauty, and a willingness to play a good game of ball or frisbee - then a Tibetan is your new best friend.
Because of their rising popularity, most often we have deposits in hand before the litter is born or soon after the birth. Do let us know of your interest and check our site frequently. Genetically, we have the ability to produce blacks, silvers, golds, brindles, champagnes and everything in between.
