Biewer Terriers are a breed of terriers first originating in Germany – bred by the Biewer family. It is the first breed to be recognized as a purebred through scientific advances instead of traditional pedigree breeding processes. While Biewers do stem from the Yorkshire Terrier family, they lack the bold, sometimes defensive demeanor of the Yorkie.
The Biewer Terrier is a very charming, whimsical being who carries their youthful happy demeanor through their entire lives. Biewers love their miniature toys and with their playful stance, they also love attempting to conquer playtime with larger toys. You will often find them carrying around their toys as they go about their day.
While Biewers are not yappers, they will alert you to those coming into your home or when something seems amiss. They are extremely devoted and can imagine no better way to spend their day than with their loving humans. They are a privilege to own.
The Biewer Terriers are a small tri colored dog. They stand 7-11 inches in height and carry a weight of around 4-8 pounds. They live long lives and have a life expectancy of up to 16 years. Biewers have long flowing coats with a silky feel. They have very minimal shedding. Biewers are considered hypo-allergenic, limiting the allergy-causing dander that releases with shedding. A bow is used to hold back the coat from the eyes on both males and females.
Our Biewer linage has been imported from Europe. We have completed all age-appropriate health testing, including the Wisdom Panel DNA health tests which tests their individual DNA for over 200 canine diseases. This ensures each breeding is optimal.
